Broward County's Early Care & Education System Components

Child Care Resource & Referral

What is the program?
The ELC contracts with 211 Broward- First Call for Help to provide family education and support services, including information, education and referrals to all legally operating early care and education and school-age programs, as well as other family strengthening resources available to Broward County residents with children ages birth through 12 years of age.
Who’s Eligible for Services?
Anyone seeking consumer information about early learning services, school-age care resources or community resources are invited to take advantage of Child Care Resource and Referral Services.
What are the Steps for Service?
Parents call 211-Broward to speak to a Resource and Referral Counselor who will determine what information or services will meet the families’ needs.  Each family will be given information on choosing an early care and education/child care provider, as well as opportunities to participate in child screens to determine developmental milestones, identify financial assistance resources, and receive referrals to appropriate agencies or community resources.
