Road To Child Outcomes

A program with systematic integration of quality within the Early Care and Education Community, building on national best practices and adaptations of evidenced based best practices for Teacher and Learning Environment to realize maximum child outcomes focused on the child, and their family.

Performance Funding Project (PFP)

The Performance Funding Project is designed, to see whether specific training and teaching approaches improve how well children do in school readiness. The project gives eligible child care providers and their instructors an opportunity to earn additional compensation for improving school readiness program outcomes.  To be eligible, providers must have at least 30 percent of their birth-5 enrollment made up of children in a school readiness program when applying. The project tracks the results of special training and teacher-child interaction through the school year.

Early Learning Florida

Early Learning Florida is a comprehensive, evidence-based system of professional development designed to “Empower Professionals” by increasing their knowledge of research-based practice and improving their skills and effectiveness through guided practice, reflection, and state-of-the-art technology.  Courses are available 24-7 and offer opportunities to collaborate with hundreds of early learning professionals and other experts and coaches to explore best practices, share ideas, and implement career-changing strategies.

Child Care WAGE$® FLORIDA Project

Research shows that early care and education staff’s education and turnover rates affect children’s development, and low wages are often what cause early care an education staff to leave the field.  Research has also shown that the quality of care children receive significantly increases when teachers are better educated.  The Child Care WAGE$ Florida program, funded in Broward County by the ELC and administered by the Children’s Forum, provides education-based wage supplements to low-paid early care and education teachers working with young children in centers and family childcare homes.
