The Early Learning Coalition of Broward County Appoints Two New Board Members to its Board of Directors

The Early Learning Coalition of Broward County (ELC Broward) is pleased to announce the addition of two new board members: Kirk Englehardt and Kristina West.

Kirk Englehardt brings over 25 years of marketing and communication experience and currently serves as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Community Foundation of Broward. Just a few achievements that were made possible under his leadership include the development of the BE BOLD Leadership Campaign, the largest in the Foundation’s history.  Notably, this campaign was a 6-year $500 million effort with nearly $150 million raised to date. In addition, he has raised $22 million in new gifts for the foundation in 2018-2019. Englehardt has been recognized for excellence in strategic communications and marketing with more than 80 awards from professional and trade organizations.

Currently the Client and Community Relations Assistant Director for PNC Bank, Kristina West brings over 16 years of experience in the financial industry, and more than five years of experience in Client and Community Relations. As part of her role, West executes client and community relations activities including event planning, execution and tracking, market sponsorship activation throughout Miami and Broward and employee engagement programs. West has a passion for early learning programs which is demonstrated through her leadership in PNC Bank’s Grow Up Great Program and the 3Ts: Tune In, Talk More, Take Turns initiative. She is also presently a member of Broward Reads, a coalition comprised of community partners united in support of the Campaign for Grade Level Reading Coalition to help communities and policymakers promote school readiness and quality teaching, tackle chronic absence, and improve summer learning, as well as engage parents as their children's first teachers.

“We’re excited to welcome our new members to the board of directors,” says Renee Jaffe, CEO of the Early Learning Coalition of Broward County. “Both appointees bring extensive knowledge in their respective professions combined with a passion for early learning. We look forward to working together to develop innovative programming and help extend our reach to children and families across Broward County.”
