Head Start/Early Head Start

The Head Start/Early Intervention Department administers the District’s Head Start (HS) Program, a federally funded program that offers free comprehensive services to economically disadvantage children and families. 

Early Head Start Eligibility

In order to be eligible for the Early Head Start Program, the following must apply:
  • Early Head Start - Pregnant women and children birth-2-years-old
  • Family income must meet federal poverty guidelines

Head Start Eligibility

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Head Start children must be 3-or 4-years-old on or before September 1st of the current year
  • Family income must be at or below the 2019 US Department of Health & Human Services Poverty Guidelines to qualify for the program
  • Applications must be completed by parent/guardian ONLY
