UPDATE FOR VPK RULE 6M-8.620
Dear Child Care Providers,
There will be an update on the guidance around the frequency of the VPK FAST test administrators training requirements.
VPK Rule 6M-8.620, Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Coordinated Screening and Progress Monitoring Program is being amended to include the frequency of VPK FAST training requirements.
This rule is going to the October 18, 2023, State Board of Education Meeting for approval.
Once approved, it will be effective in November 2023. Coalitions will verify that annual training requirements for VPK FAST test administrators are met before the beginning of the 24-25 VPK School-Year Program.
That said, test administrators do not have to wait until November to take the training.
All test administrators are encouraged to complete the new training course, VPK Test Administrators Getting Started with FAST Star Early Literacy Assessment, to increase and secure test administration and fidelity before administering the FAST Star Early Literacy assessment to VPK students. This training is self-paced and 1.5 hours long.

Attention Providers:Per the State of Florida Division of Early Learning (DEL), The Early Learning Coalition will default to our (ELC of Broward) Max Reimbursement Base Rate regardless of the Provider's Private Pay Base Rate, effective July 1, 2022.Base rate means the rate paid by the ELC before the additional dollar incentives (i.e., Gold Seal, Special Needs, and CLASS Score Rate differentials, etc.)
08/18/22 Attention VPK Providers: The Division of Early Learning (DEL) has uploaded the application and affidavit for additional compensation for VPK providers into the Provider Portal. Attached is the VPK $15/hr Wage Incentive Chart provided by DEL. 
Again, for those VPK providers who choose to participate in the incentive program, your FY22-23 School-Year Differential Payment Rate is $631.80 per child in Broward County for the year ($1.17 per hour). [$618.00 State Base + Broward Cost Adjustment (X CDC) = $631.80]
Reminder: The Wage Incentive Program are for Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) providers who elect to raise the pay rate of their VPK employees to a minimum of $15/hr for all time worked on the VPK program.
