Observation/Screening of Young Children in the Classroom

About the Event

Please contact elcbtraining@elcbroward.org if you have questions or need assistance.

The assessment of young children involves judgment about their adaptive functioning in the context of caregiving relationships, their family and within the early care and education environment. As such, this requires an understanding of observation, screening and assessments that are culturally responsive to young children and the family’s culture. This training will help early care educators increase awareness into the concept of screening to families served, in addition to developing the skills to explain the purpose of the evaluation and next in the process to guide intervention planning based on the child and family’s needs.

Presenter: Dr. Harleen Hutchinson, IMH-E
