Intro to Interactions for Educators (Pre-K CLASS 2nd Edition Overview) - ELC of Broward
About the Event
Please contact elcbtraining@elcbroward.org if you have questions or need assistance.
This is a Pre-K CLASS® 2nd Edition overview. This overview will review the changes made to the Pre-K 2008 CLASS® tool and help participants become familiar with the Pre-K 2nd Edition CLASS® tool.
In early childhood settings, each moment that teachers and children interact with one another is an opportunity to develop positive relationships that build on learning. Effective interactions support the building of strong connections between children and educators, as well as between children. During this overview, we will discuss the importance of using developmentally appropriate strategies during classroom activities that take into consideration children’s differing needs, interests, learning styles, and abilities. We will also explore how children’s ability to thrive depends on how educators connect, engage, and inspire learning and discuss what effective interactions look and sound like within each of the three domains of the Pre-K 2nd Edition CLASS® tool.
By the end of this overview, participants will:
1. Explore the core skills that support children’s ability to thrive
2. Describe the CLASS® System
3. Recognize how to use the Pre-K 2nd Edition CLASS® Dimensions Guide
4. Discuss the Pre-K CLASS® 2nd Edition dimensions
Trainers: Andrew Soto and Elvira Duarte, Education Specialists, Early Learning Coalition of Broward County
